Our story
In 2000, Singaporean entrepreneur George Quek — an artist by training — decided bread deserved the boutique treatment. He gave every bun a witty name, because each bread has its own story to tell, and put the bakers behind glass so you could watch the stories rise. He called it BreadTalk: bread with a lifestyle.
The timeline
Twenty-five years, one tray at a time.
George Quek opens the first BreadTalk at Bugis Junction, Singapore — the world meets the boutique bakery, where every bread has a story to tell.
BreadTalk lists on the Singapore Exchange and opens its first overseas store in Jakarta. The Flosss® begins its journey to 250 million buns sold.
BreadTalk Philippines opens its first store at Glorietta 4, Ayala Center Makati — tongs, trays, open kitchen and all.
The fourth-generation store concept arrives: oak textures, the Island Bar chef's table, and over 50 new bakes developed by international Master Chefs.
From Baguio to Zamboanga, BreadTalk bakes fresh daily in over 100 Philippine stores — and delivers through GrabFood and foodpanda.
The ritual
No counters between you and the bread. Since day one, BreadTalk has been self-serve — a small ceremony we've repeated millions of times.
The BreadTalk handshake. Every visit starts the same way — armed and ready.
Take your time. Watch the kitchen work behind glass while you choose your story.
We'll bag it, you'll smell it all the way home. Make your day.

What we knead by
Premium ingredients handpicked from around the world — Japanese-milled flour, pure New Zealand butter — prepared from their raw state in our Central Kitchen.
Perfect harmony among textures, flavours and ingredients — every recipe is a Master Chef's personal take on classic simplicity.
Every bite's a joy. We keep creating products that bring an abundance of joy and goodness to your day.
Made in Manila
Since 2004 we haven't just baked the classics — we've written a few chapters of our own.
